\"gatekeeper\"<\/a>GateKeeper is a security feature to prevent your MAC getting affected by any software. By default GateKeeper prevents any\u00a0third party apps from being used in OS X. This really bugs advance user like us.<\/p>\n

Disable Gatekeeper from the Command Line in OS X<\/h3>\n

Launch Terminal if you haven\u2019t done so yet (\/Applications\/Utilities\/) and issue the following command to turn off Gatekeeper:<\/p>\n

sudo spctl --master-disable<\/code><\/p>\n

Hit return and enter the admin password as usually required by sudo, and Gatekeeper will instantly be disabled. If you feel like confirming this, you can do so with the \u2013status flag and the same command, like so:<\/p>\n

spctl --status<\/code><\/p>\n

This will report back \u2018assessments disabled\u2019 to indicate that Gatekeeper has been turned off. You will also find that the Gatekeeper Security preference panel will be set to \u2018Everywhere\u2019.<\/p>\n

Enable Gatekeeper from the Command Line of Mac OS X<\/h3>\n

Of course, you can also turn on Gatekeeper from the command line of OS X too by using the following command string:<\/p>\n

sudo spctl --master-enable<\/code><\/p>\n

Hit return and you can confirm the status again with \u2013status:<\/p>\n

$ spctl --status
