Ready Score

A daily readiness score from 0 to 10 and an energy score from 0 to 100, built from the sleep, heart rate variability, vitals and activity your Apple Watch already records. Answers to the common questions are below; for anything else, email us and we'll reply within one working day.

Getting it working

Most problems come down to Health permissions or the watch not being worn to sleep.

01

First launch

Allow access to Health when asked (Turn On All), then wear your Apple Watch to sleep with Sleep tracking turned on. Ready Score needs about seven nights to learn your typical ranges, and shows its progress while it calibrates.

02

No score showing

Open Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Ready Score and turn on every category. iPhone only shares Health data while it is unlocked, so open the app after you wake and pull down to refresh.

03

Which Apple Watch

Any Apple Watch that records sleep and heart rate works. Some measurements need newer hardware: sleep stages need watchOS 9, respiratory rate watchOS 8, wrist temperature Series 8 or any Ultra, blood oxygen Series 6 or later where available. Anything your watch doesn't record is left out and the score is built from the rest.

04

Reading the score

8–10 Go For It, 5–7 Ready, 2–4 Pace Yourself, 0–1 Recover. Vitals, Sleep and Activity each move it; tap any of them in the app to see why. Energy also drains with time awake, so it falls through the day even when readiness holds.

05

Widgets and Apple Watch

Touch and hold the Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap +, and search for Ready Score. For the watch, open the Watch app on iPhone and install Ready Score under Available Apps, then add it to a watch face as a complication.

06

Morning notification

Sent from a background refresh, which iOS schedules on its own. Keep Background App Refresh on for Ready Score in Settings › General; if the phone stays locked all morning, the notification may arrive late or not at all.

07

Not medical advice

Ready Score is for general wellness and fitness. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If a warning about your vitals worries you, talk to a doctor.

Privacy policy

Ready Score, effective 22 September 2026. Your health data stays on your devices.

01

What it reads

With your permission, Ready Score reads from Apple Health: sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, wrist temperature, blood oxygen, active energy and, if you use Cycle Tracking, menstrual flow. It never writes anything to Health.

02

Where it is processed

Entirely on your iPhone. Your latest score is shared only with your own paired Apple Watch and your widgets. Ready Score has no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

03

What it stores

Your settings, daily check-ins and journal entries, kept in the app's own storage on your device.

04

What it shares

Nothing. Health data is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or marketing.

05

Your control

Change or withdraw access any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Ready Score. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.

06

Children

Ready Score is not directed at children under 13.
