A Game Of Closed Curves
Loops is a drawing game disguised as an arcade game. The screen sprinkles blue dots and red bombs across the play area. You draw a closed loop with your finger. Anything inside the loop is processed – blue dots become points, red bombs end the round.
Score is squared by capture count, so a single loop around five blues earns 25 points. A safe loop around one blue earns one. The game punishes timid drawing harder than aggressive drawing.
Why Greedy Loops Are Tempting
The squared scoring is psychological warfare. Your brain tells you a single big sweep is worth ten cautious small ones. Then you notice the red bomb wedged between two blues. Now you have to choose – swing wide and miss the high-value cluster, or thread the needle and pray.
This produces the rare risk-reward loop that scales naturally. Early players draw small. Mid-range players take chances. Top players plan dual-threaded loops that catch maximum blues without engulfing a single bomb.
