One Tap. Pure Timing. Endless Fun.
Orbit Lock strips arcade gaming to its purest form. A red ball circles a glowing core. Around the outer ring, a green slot rotates. Your job is simple – tap to release the ball at the exact moment its angle aligns with the slot. Miss by a hair and the run is over.
That single rule produces a surprisingly deep loop. The ball spins faster every hit. The target reverses direction every three points. After ten successful releases your eyes start burning the orbit pattern into muscle memory.
Why It Works
Hyper-casual games live or die on the time-to-fail loop. Orbit Lock keeps that loop under three seconds. You die, you tap, you try again – no menus, no friction. The only screen between you and the next attempt is the word RETRY.
The genius of one-input games is that failure feels personal. You cannot blame the controls. You released too early. You hesitated. The slot was right there. Each death is a tiny education in your own reaction time.
What’s Under The Hood
Orbit Lock is built in Flutter using a single CustomPainter for all rendering. No game engine, no physics library, no asset pipeline beyond a generated launcher icon and a synthesized blip sound effect. The entire game logic fits in a single file under 200 lines of Dart.
Key tricks:
- A
Tickerdrives the simulation at the device refresh rate - Angles are tracked in radians and compared with a tolerance window of about 0.22 rad (roughly 12 degrees)
- Every successful hit nudges both the ball speed and the target speed upward, producing organic difficulty without scripted levels
