As we approach the close of another year, it’s time for reflection on accomplishments and areas for growth. In addressing the key aspects of my personal and professional life, I’ll be answering three fundamental questions, comparing this year’s progress to the commitments I made last year.
1. What went well this year?
Travel: This year blessed me with the opportunity to explore Iraq and Dubai, along with revisits to Surat, Kaparwanj, and Galiyakot. Striving for a consistent travel routine, I aimed to spend a few days exploring every month.
Exercise: Successfully getting back on track with my fitness goals, I committed to exercising three times a week.
Sleep: A conscious effort to prioritize sleep resulted in an increase to 6 hours and 49 minutes per day, including an average of 19 minutes of deep sleep. Looking ahead, I aim to refine my sleeping habits and achieve a target of 8 hours per night with an emphasis on quality deep sleep.
Debt Reduction: In a significant accomplishment, I managed to reduce my debt by 90% this year and am optimistic about becoming debt-free in the coming months, with the grace of Allah.
2. What didn’t go so well this year?
Writing: Despite setting a goal of writing at least one article per week, I fell short, producing only four articles this year. While it was a challenging year for writing consistency, the viewership of my blog increased. For those interested, my book can be found at amzn.to/2CHesaZ.
Creating New Opportunities: The focus this year leaned towards consolidating existing endeavors, leading to a missed opportunity to connect with new people and ventures.
Family and Friends Time: Due to frequent travel commitments, I found it challenging to dedicate as much time as I would have liked to my family and friends. This is an area I am determined to improve in the future, Inshallah.
3. What am I working toward?
Networking: In the upcoming year, I plan to invest more time in networking and continuous learning. This commitment extends beyond professional growth to personal development. Acknowledging that I am not an expert, I am enthusiastic about learning and growing in various aspects of life.
Business Expansion: Building on the steps taken in the right direction this year, I am actively working on expanding my business. Initiating new partnerships and ventures last year, I aim to increase these efforts in the coming year.
Looking Ahead: Reflecting on the improvements in my life and mindset in 2023, I am eagerly anticipating new adventures and continuous learning in 2024.
